Our costs vary from the type of treatment you are having to the location you are in. None of these treatments are  covered by health insurance policies that exclude cosmetic treatments. Please visit our pricing page to learn more. 

Our two aesthetic lasers  are based in Wellington city or the North Shore, Auckland.  Both lasers cannot be transported to outreach clinics because of safety and size.

If you are travelling from out of town, please make sure you have booked the correct treatment and time. We often advise, if it is your first treatment, that you book a treatment consultation with your  appointment to allow for more time to discuss the treatment your concerns and be prepared by the RN or therapist for the treatment. 

Both our Harmony and excel V laser systems

The 1064 nm wavelength offers greater depth of penetration and its extended pulse duration facilitates a powerful heating allowing treatment of deeper lesions that cannot be targeted by shorter wavelengths. The applicator features a unique open-angle view with an aiming beam which vastly improves visualization of blood vessels underneath the skin. Simultaneous contact cooling technology incorporated into the tip cools the skin during treatment, minimizing the risk of side effects and resulting in a more comfortable treatment for patients.  Both our harmony and excel V lasers use 1064 to target small blood vessels or pigment cells in the skin. Our lasers deliver pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is then reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will naturally be redirected to other deeper veins below the skin surface, where they should be. The harmony or excel V lasers use thermal  heat to the targeted vessel or pigmentation which then becomes eliminated or faded, reduced or softened with one or multiple treatments.

• This varies from patient to patient and is dependent on the number, size and colour of the vessels being treated.
• Our RNs & laser therapists will assess and create a treatment plan with you, discussing the  time frame and costs.

Our Registered Nurses & laser therapists– trained in Aesthetic treatments. Our registered nurses and laser therapists (LT) have over 15-20 years of comprehensive experience each. Both the RNs and LT  work closely with our Specialist Vein Health doctors.   

We have ongoing support and training from both Alma and Cutera, they also attend national and international Aesethetic conferences and workshops.

• Yes. Laser has been used by health professionals since the 1970s. 
• Both Alma and Cutera are FDA cleared.  Both are medical grade (not cosmetic IPL) cutting edge, state of the art technology made and developed in both Isreal (Alma) or the USA (Cutera) for a global market.
• You may experience initial skin irritation or redness but this will settle within a week or so.
• We provide safety glasses for you to wear during treatment

Most patients feel a rubber band snapping sensation against the skin as the pulses of energy are delivered through the hand-piece by the Nurse.

Both our Harmony and excel V Lasers have  cooling tips which  protect and soothe the treated areas so you feel no discomfort and have an improved treatment experience. Plus often a cooling pack is used to cool the area pre or post treatment. 

• Soothing cooling gel or soothing heat aid or numbing spray post treatment  may be applied.
• It is not uncommon to have have some raised redness, a heat welt or some bruising.
• Changes in the treated veins can take time and multiple treatments to fade, soften or disappear altogether
• Apply sun block for 2 weeks to the treated area. 
• There are no restrictions on your activities after treatment, but we will probably advise you not to have a hot shower (just cool), take a spa, sauna or go swimming for 24-48hrs. 
• We recommend you keep your water consumption up following laser treatment, as well as wearing protective clothing or sunscreen throughout the day even in winter. 

• This will vary from patient to patient.  Your nurse will give you time frame indications at your initial assessment
• Many patients find significant improvement over weeks and with multiple treatments
• Over time, it is possible for new spider veins to appear, this is normal, and is just part of aging.
